Cheap Car Insurance Archives

my boyfriend’s parents are kicking him off their insurance and he needs to find it for cheap in only a couple of days. any ideas…i tried geico, esurance and some others but its still too expensive.

Well, it’s NOT cheap, no matter where you go. He can get quotes from progressive.com, or go to a local agent. But at 18, it’s probably going to be Progressive, Geico, Leader Infinity, or some other higher risk company.

Statistically, women have fewer accidents than men and therefore have lower insurance rates. Even so, if you’re a woman you still want to get the cheapest insurance you can. Here’s how to do just that.

Compare Rates

Because women’s insurance rates can vary as much as $1,000 between companies for the same type of policy, the first thing you need to do is to find the company with the best rates.

The quickest and easiest way to that is to go to an online insurance comparison website. There you’ll get get quotes from top-ranked companies so you can compare rates. (See link below.)

Maximize Your Discounts

Once you’re on the comparison site you’ll need to fill out an online questionnaire so you can get a quote that fits your needs. As you fill out the questionnaire you’ll be able include discounts for your policy. Here are the ones that will save you the most money:

* Increase you deductible if you can afford to pay it.

* Decline collision and comprehensive coverage if your car is worth less than your premium.

* Decline medical coverage if you already have medical insurance that covers you.

* Decline towing coverage if you have it through AAA or somewhere else.

* If you have two cars, insure them with the same company.

* Decline rental car coverage if you don’t want it.

* Include all the discounts you’re entitled to for security features like anti-theft devices, airbags, anti-lock brakes, and automatic seat belts.

Last, but not least, you’ll want to go to a consumer rating site like Epinions.com to get the inside scoop on the company you choose, to find out how they treat their customers and how quickly they pay their claims.

I have a new car (well used new car) that I want to take to Germany for 12 months. One insurance company quoted me £8,000! What are the best companies to get a quote from? Either that allow this under the policy, or will charge a reasonable fee for a green card on top of the normal insurance policy.

try AA
but most countrys you only have 6 months
i now live in spain & it 3 month befor you have to re register the car

One of the best ways to keep the rates down and obtain Cheap Car Insurance for teens is by having your teen enroll in a driver education course. Not only do most car insurance companies offer discounts to teens who have taken driver education courses, but a driver education course will also help better prepare your teen for the road. Driver education courses are offered in most American high schools, and can be obtained by private companies.

Most driver education courses include classroom instruction, driving practice, and maintenance tips, as well as provide experience.

Classroom Instruction. Driver education courses include classroom instruction. Although most teens are anxious to get behind the wheel, the classroom instruction is necessary to begin teaching them about street signs, traffic lights, and basic rules of the road.

Driving Practice. During driving practice, not only will teens benefit from driving with and getting feedback from an experienced driver, but they’ll also get to see their classmates in action. Therefore, the students will learn from their classmates’ errors and successes.

Maintenance Tips. Some driver education courses teach teens basic car maintenance and repairs. For example, your teen’s driver education course may teach students how to change a flat tire. This is an emergency that can occur for drivers of any age.

Experience. Although a driver education course will not make your teen as experienced at driving as you are, it will give your teen experience that he or she did not previously have. Getting behind the wheel of a car with a driving instructor will give your teen a “heads up” when it comes to actually taking his or her driver license examination.

When the time comes for your teen to take the driver license exam and ultimately purchase car insurance – or be added to your car insurance policy – you can help keep the rates down by making sure your teen has taken a driver education course.
